Vitex trifolia var. simplicifolia


Pohinahina grows wild on and near Hawaii beaches.
It is thought native to India, Japan, and East to
Hawaii. In Asia the leaves are used internally as
medicine and externally for poultices, and burning
or powdered leaves used as an insect repellant. This
is a very common trailing climber of the strand.
