Coffea arabica
Several species of coffee grow in Hawaii all native
to the areas of tropical Africa. Arabica is the most
common and grows wild in many Hawaiian lowland rain forests.
This is a very robust and agressive plant and becomes weedy
in many wet areas of Hawaii. Possibly coffee may become the
predominate agricultural crop in Hawaii, over-taking sugar,
pineapple, and macadamia nuts.
