WDEF-TV NEWS 12: a local tv station from Chattanooga, TN.

MEIGS COUNTY, where I live, is located in the southeastern part of Tennessee and has a land area of 122,240 acres. Decatur, the county seat and principal town, is located about 50 miles northeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee and 60 miles southwest of Knoxville, Tennessee. Meigs County is drained by the Tennessee River which forms its west boundary. Parts of two large lakes - Chickamauga and Watts Bar - are in Meigs County. Chickamauga and Watts Bar Lakes were formed by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) when dams were constructed across the Tennessee River to provide flood control and generate electricity in the Tennessee Valley area. The lakes are also know for their fishing and recreational values in this area. My home and farm is located in rural Meigs County. I utilize my farm for it's recreational values. My property boundary adjoins the Chickamauga Lake shoreline and I can see the water from my home.
