I'm sure most people have a story about a song or singer that reminds them of why they like that particular song or artist and so do I, so here goes. I was living in Honolulu in 1988 and listening to the radio while driving to work when I heard a cover of Cat Stevens' Wild World. I loved the song immediately! Great cover of a song from my high school years, great beat, great voice and after some asking around, I found out it was Maxi Priest. I went to Tower Records later that week and bought the only Maxi Priest album I could find - Maxi Priest. This little event turned me into a Maxi fan forever more and I wore out a cassette tape I recorded of the album while laying on the beach most of that summer.

As far as I know, this is the first and only web site dedicated to Maxi Priest. You can find other little snippets here and there on Maxi and there's not much out there other than what little Virgin Records has placed on their site about their artist. As I've always enjoyed Maxi's music since that day I first heard Wild World (especially while cruising in my car on a hot summer day), I thought it was a real shame that fans couldn't find anything on the web about Maxi. No pictures, no discography, no real audio files, no upcoming concert dates, no nothin'! Well, I will attempt to make up for the lack of Maxi info while keeping this unofficial site as up to date as possible.

If you're not familiar with Maxi Priest, he is probably the most internationally known reggae artist since Bob Marley and if you don't know who Bob Marley is, I don't think there is help for you. Give Maxi a listen and see what you think. If you already know Maxi, check out what I've got and who knows, maybe you'll learn something new too...

Thanks for stoppin' by visitor #.
