Final Fantasy 1
System: Nintendo (not super - normal)
Maker: Squaresoft
Genre: RPG
Final Fantasy is the only Final Fantasy game on the nintendo. I haven't
actually played through FF1 (Final Fantasy 1) because I got rid of my old
nintendo before I could actually finish it.
From what I could see, FF1 was the most advanced nintendo game ever
made for that system. For that era of gaming, the graphics were
wondering, the plot long and intriguing, and the save slot revolutionary
(I think). My favorite thing about FF1 was the fact that you could choose
what classes your characters would be.
This game was also extremely annoying. For one thing, there was only one
save slot, so you could only be playing one game at a time. The most
annoying thing for me, though, was the battle sequences. Like all the
Final Fantasies, the battle scenes had your party facing the enemy. When
it was the enemy's turn, he would make his attack, and when it was your
turn you would make a variety of choices on what to do. The annoying
thing: When you told your characters to attack the enemy, they would walk
up (VERY SLOWLY) to the monster, swing there weapon maybe 30 times at it,
and then backstep to their original position. Considering that they
walked so slow and you had to do it for all 4 of your characters, battle
sequences could take 5 minutes even on easy monsters. The music in this
game could get repetitive and annoying, as well.
I would only recommend Final Fantasy 1 to those people who have ONLY a
regular nintendo and want to get a serious RPG for it. If you have any
other systems, though, go ahead and skip this classic and get FF2 or FF3.
