It's not really a whodunnit story (you suspect the murderer immediately), so don't expect a Sherlock Holmes-like case to solve. Shounen-ai literally means "boys love," and it's a term used in the shoujo (girls) manga world as a story that depicts two men in an intimate relationship. Although shounen-ai titles can be enjoyed by a gay audience, please remember that they are targeted to young female readers, so the relationships depicted are highly idealizied and very stereotypical. The art is good (Yamabuki recommends the kissing scenes), the story is bland with little plot (Sana-chan thinks the storyline is dumb). Like translation notes in Mahoujin Guru Guru, Fake also has colorful images with the notes. No background music (Something about not being able to get the OST early enough). HYA also couldn't get a hold of the LD, so it's run off of a rented video tape. If you're ordering from us, it'll be a 2nd generation copy (original tape -> SVHS master -> your copy), so the quality should still be good. Genre: detective drama; action(?); shounen-ai(Comments about FAKE and "shounen-ai" by Hana Yori Anime) |
