Hana Yori Dango movie
updated for 1/10/99 note
Hana Yori Dango, the movie takes a different twist of the character-structure of the original story, and puts all the main characters in New York. What's Tsukushi doing in NY? She's training to become a Broadway musical star.

The dancing movements are drawn awkwardly, but the character design and the "soft brown" feel of the background stays true to the original manga and the TV series.

Can be watched by all ages, but it might be boring for kids under 12.

Note from 1/10/99 news: the Hana Yori Dango movie was originally planned to be coupled with the live-action Hana Yori Dango movie that Team Abcb is subtitling. HYA and Abcb still plan on making a tape with both movies, but neither of them know when that will be happening. Because the Hana Yori Dango movie (HYA) is only 30 minutes long, HYA filled the tape with... their silliness. More information about it is on their page, so take a look.

Genre: musical-drama

Extra stuff: Hana Yori Anime's Yamabuki, Kaoru-chan, and Sana-chan "talk" (throughout); Tenshi Nanka ja Nai (I'm not an Angel) preview (5 mins); "Rurouni Kenshin" sampler (10 mins); "Mahoujin Guru Guru" movie opening sequence (5 mins); "Mahoujin Guru Guru" TV preview; and "Anime West ?? project" preview (5 mins)
