He was a published, award winning, critically acclaimed poet, having published Teardrops In Sand, Past Unforgiving Midnight and the Silence Between. All available at bookstores, libraries throughout the U. S. He leaves 4 beloved daughters, Srae, Shi Amber Feliciano, Tera Gwen Dickerson and Tris Kelli Hnedak; one beloved son, Sam (Jack) Sax, III, a retired special forces Bronze Star recipient; a brother, Thomas McDaniel, atty., his best friend. He leaves 9 grandchildren with one on the way. Two kindred spirits, Dr. John Riddle and Britt Abbott, and a circle of friends unsurpassed by tellurian standards. He loved fishing and sailing his SS Asylum. Throughout his life he was a professional bull rider, a narcotics and homicide detective and a successful entrepreneur.
