Now that Eddie Van Halen has played guitar on Roger Waters' new song, "Lost Boys Calling," can we expect more songs from this unlikely duo? While this new tune is stark and verging on beautiful, I suspect this is an attempt to cash in on the popularity these two once enjoyed up through the end of the 1980s. The shock value is certainly there; "Eddie Van Halen and who? That Pink Floyd dude? Mr. Brick In The Wall?" Once you've heard that much, you have to listen (that is, if you're old enough to recognize the names in the first place). Should this juxtaposition work, I expect we'll see other unusual "super-groups."
