Citibank Card Center

Job Captain, PRS&P - 10/96 to 6/98

A 19-storey corporate headquarters building meant to house Citibank Manila's Card Operations. Consists of 13 office floors and a canteen atop a 5-storey parking podium, supplemented by 2 basements. The ground floor is utilized as a bank branch. As a job captain I supervised production and correction of drawings, coordination with the various trades, assisted in the awarding of various contract packages and attended meetings with the project manager and contractors.

Shoemart-Keppel Straits (SM-KS) Tower 1

Job Captain, PRS&P - 11/97 to 6/98

A 60-storey office building located in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila. When completed, this will be the tallest building in the Philippines. As a job captain, I supervised production and correction of drawings, plus coordinated with other trades. I was also responsible for the planning and layout of the residential Tower 3 which was approved by the client but subsequently shelved because of the financial crisis.

GSIS Multi-Use Development

Member, Original Design Team for Competition Scheme, PRS&P - 6/97 to 6/98

A 28-hectare commercial, residential and office development. The original design brief was composed of 5 highrise condominium towers, two office towers and one hotel atop a massive commercial- and retail- podium. This joint Pimentel, Rodriguez, Simbulan & Partners and Architecture International entry bested three other design proposals in this Ayala Land, Inc. commissioned competition. Budget cuts due to the Asian currency crisis, however, has caused the client to downscale the project, resulting in the shelving of the original scheme and redesign of the entire project. As a member of the design team, my responsibilities included the preliminary interior planning and layout of the residential portion of the original competition scheme as well as some of the subsequent schemes. I was also in charge of calculating area efficiency for each building as well as the entire project to see if it conformed to the client's stringent requirements. I also produced much of the presentation boards and sheets for the original scheme.

Thesis '96: A Filipino Skyscraper

My student thesis that won the 3rd place for Best in Design competition among U.P. College of Architecture Batch '96.

This is a photomontage of a proposed 60-storey skyscraper utilizing the concepts of Filipino Space, hypothetically located in the Makati CBD near the Makati Medical Center.
