Haruka is one, if not, the toughest members of the Sailor Senshi. Usually seen with her 'partner' Sailor Neptune / Michiru, Haruka goes around either riding her motorcycle or driving her car. Haruka does indeed drive illegally, due to her license being American and not Japanese. Haruka first shows up with Michiru at Mugen Gakuen, the Exclusive Private School for the 'Gifted / Talented' students of Japan (a school that Hotaru also attends). Haruka tends to be the 'male' of she and Michiru's relationship; her boyish exterior doesn't change it any. Usually at first meetings, Haruka is mistaken for a male due to her looks, attitude, voice and name (it not being male or female). As seen many times, Haruka tends not to show or express her feelings towards Michiru except in a crisis or heart-pounding moment - - Michiru and Haruka tend to flirt continually, but cautiously.. This is why many get confused. Naoko Takeuchi once quoted, "It wasn't easy to make children understand how there could be true love between two women. Haruka is a tomboy, she talks and dresses like a boy, and therefore it's natural she falls in love with Michiru, the total opposite". I agree with Naoko totally ^.^
