how can they say to you
when you're a little girl

tales of maidens saved and
chivalry's love...
how could they have told me these               things?
let me believe them truth
when they are all lies?
how can centuries of desceit servive?

for the legends, proven false by time?

how very stupid are we
tell your daughters
tell them in truth
dont spread the lies
however pretty and fair
prepair her instead for lifes missery
harden her heart before its broken
dont cloud her eyeswith false hope
open them to dispair
that there is no true love
no sacrifice made
no knight errant
no lover's gaze
no ballroom dance
nore white picket fences
or even sweet happy endings
only lies...
