A chill wind blew through the autumn night air. A small black hair female strolled down the darkened Nerima streets. She walked with the cautious grace of a warrior who had seen too many battles. Her leather coat billowed in the breeze, exposing the scabbard of her well-used Katana.
The visitor appeared to be in her late teens, but her hazel eyes showed centuries of wisdom. After many lifetimes of fighting, her emotions were locked behind behind her mask of professionalism.
The stranger shivered in the autumn air. After consulting the map in her front pocket, she headed west. The only sound on the street was the clomp of her well-used boots. The stranger stopped at the door of a darkened restaurant. She double checked the sign, “Nekohunten” (Cat Café) and went into the establishment.
The stranger scanned the darkened interior of the common room. Her senses tingled, Danger!
She drew her Katana and spun to the right. She had barely managed to parry the large wooden staff sailing for her head.
The stranger spoke,” Cologne, is that you?”
The old woman grasping the staff scrutinized the young stranger. “ By the gods, Ryanna you haven’t changed in 250 years.:
“No, but you have my friend. I didn’t realize it had been that long.” Ryanna put away her Katana.
Cologne squinted up at Ryanna. She spoke sarcastically. “ Those of us that don’t have the benefit of mermaid’s flesh, do get older.”
“ I do apologize for the entrance.” Ryanna pulled out a chair and sat down. “ I came here to catch up on old times. But I also came to see if I could acquire the Reversal jewel from you.”
“ Oh, then we have much to discuss.”

Dawn
Shampoo sat up on the side of her bed. She put on her bathrobe, and ran her fingers through her disheveled purple hair. She yawned and headed for the common room, being careful to sneak past Mousse’s room. She wasn’t in the mood for his antics this morning.
Shampoo listened at the door, Great- Grandmother was talking with a strange female. Shampoo thought it best not to interrupt, but she listened to them for a few minutes.
Stranger: Your saying all I have to do is resolve this love triangle between Your Great- Granddaughter, her suitor, and his fiancée?
Grandmother: It’s more complicated than that my friend. My future son in law is Jusenkyo cursed.
Shampoo heard the stranger stand up.
Stranger: What!!!! People are still going to that cursed place!
Grandmother: Yes, but do be careful. Ranma can be either sex, and he is tricky.
Stranger: He fell into the spring of drowned girl? He has Lin Ran’s curse.
Grandmother: Lin Ran is just a legend.
Stranger: Never tell an immortal about legends! I knew Lin Ran, she was my friend.
The stranger stopped and took a deep breath.
Stranger: Where will I find Ranma and his fiancée.
Grandmother: At a Dojo that bears your last name, Ryanna. They are the descendants of your brother Hayashi.
Ryanna: Fine, I’ll go there immediately.
Ryanna walked out the front door. Shampoo walked into the common room. Great grandmother turned toward her. “Who that was Great- Grandmama?”
“ That, my child was your Great Grandmother’s oldest and most powerful friend, Ryanna Tendo.”

Tendo Dojo
It was a typical Saturday at the Tendo Dojo. Ranma and Genma were practicing around the koi pond. Akane and Nabiki were having a conversation on the patio. Kasumi was preparing breakfast in the kitchen.
There was a knock at the front door, just as Ranma and his father fell into the koi pond. Soun walked over to the door, “ Coming.” He slid the door open to reveal the vision of beauty that was Ryanna Tendo.
Soun: “ Can I help you, Stranger?”
Ryanna: “ This is the Tendo family residence, correct?”
Soun: “Yes, are you here to train?”
Ryanna: “No, Dear Soun, I’m here to solve your problems.”
Soun: “ Do I know you Ma’am ?”
Ryanna: “ Yes, I helped you solve the problem of your master ten years ago. Have you forgotten me so quickly, Soun?”
Soun: “Ryanna????”
Soun, reached out and pulled Ryanna into a hug. Ryanna returned the hug and followed Soun inside. It seemed that she had arrived just in time. A pretty Brown hair woman was serving breakfast. Gathered around the table was the entire Tendo family. Ryanna could tell that all three of the girls were Soun Tendo’s daughters, even though she hadn’t seen them in ten years. The red hair girl and the panda were probably the Saotomes. Soun introduced Ryanna to the family.
Ryanna looked carefully at the Panda. Looking into his eyes she saw something familiar.
” Genma Saotome, is that you?” The panda held up a sign. “ Can’t get anything past you, Ryanna!!” She turned toward the red hair girl. “ This must be Ranma?” She held out her hand. Ranma took her hand and shook it. “ What’s up, Miss Tendo!” Ryanna smiled at that. “ Ryanna will do nicely, My dear.”
Ryanna removed her leather coat, and sat it behind her. The ancient looking Katana at her side shocked the entire family. She took the Scabbard off of her belt and sat the relic beside her. After getting comfortable she spoke to Ranma again.
Ryanna: “Ranma, you look very much like an old friend of mine.”
Ranma: “Well, this isn’t my normal body, I’m really a guy.”
Ryanna: “Oh, I knew you were Jusenkyo cursed, my dear. My old friend, Lin Ran was the young girl that drowned there.
Ranma: “Hold on a minute, that girl drowned fifteen hundred years ago!!”
Ryanna: “Precisely, my dear. There are a great many things about me that you will never understand.”
Ranma: “How could you know her?? Are you a Time Traveler or Somethin’... This isn’t the terminator you know!!”
Ryanna: No, this is not Science fiction. I have been alive for 1600 years, since the day I ingested Mermaid’s flesh.
Family: Mermaid’s flesh!!??
Ranma: What’s that??
Ryanna:” I shall explain. Legend has it that whoever eats the flesh of the mermaid will be granted Immortality. The Legend is only half-true. “ Ryanna’s Eyes narrow darkly at this point.” You can become immortal.. but at a cost. There are only one maybe two people a generation that can eat the foul flesh and live. It kills all others, or turns them into lost souls. Not a pretty fate.”
Ryanna stood up as the astonished family gasped at her words. She spoke deeply and seriously. “But now Ranma.. I must tell you the reason I am here.”
