Model Citizen first started out as a 3 piece band in 1995, which consisted of brian, brent and dallas. brian on vocals and the bass, brent on the drums, and dallas on the guitar. we had names like The Burning Stickmen, tba, and many other dorky names. it wasn't untill the beginning of 1997 that we got jeff for our drummer. and since brent also played the guitar, he became the 2nd guitar player in the band. Then it was around the summer of 1998 when we got our new singer andy. We were influenced by many different bands. Back in the beginningof 1995 when we all got our first guitars we were influenced a lot by green day, rancid and gob. mainly because they were the more popular punk rock, and when we had our three piece band it was fine for green day or gob covers and playing our one or two original songs. but we realized we didnt want to go on forever doing that, so we started looking for a new drummer about a year later. we tryed a few people but none of them were what we wanted. eventually we came upon our good man jeff. He started playing drums with us from then on. We also wanted a new singer, so we had been looking for a while but nothing serious. untill one day dallas was at school talking with andy.. And he was supposubly starting a band. dallas read a few of his lyrics and thought they were good. So one day andy came to one of our band practices and picked up a mic a started singing. and thats how model citizen was formed. |
