Just before Christmas in 1996, I purchased a Diary. Now because I have interest in emphemera the diary was not as might be expected for 1997, but in fact for 1893. The Standard Life Assurance Company's Almanac and Diary, a small red book,consisting of 175 pages at a week to two pages. The diary was blank apart from a short list of sundries, and one diary entry for October the eighth, which was a Sunday.
"Gone to Mrs McCallisters"
The question that has puzzled me since that time, is who wrote that one entry in the diary? Did they make it to Mrs McCallisters? What happened when he or she was there? Did they ever return? Why did they never again write in the diary? These are mysteries which would never be solved without occult agencies, and the time has come for that solution.
