Robot Wars - The Team

Let me introduce the team. This is the fun part as I try and rip the pictures out of our internal database.

Name Occupation What they do Photo
Phil Thomas. Age 24. Too fat for his height but he is fighting to get back into shape, cycling 50 miles a week. Has a soft accent, which means he can insult people and get away with it. Research Scientist. Works in the IT group supporting the research effort. General organiser and design person. Often wanders off and pesters people into doing things which need to be done.
Rik Allen. Age ??. Cycle Dude with a nice kit car, which was last summers project. Research Scientist in the Interactive Systems group. Lucky bugger who has just returned from Calafornia and likes the idea of large metal objects chewing each other up into little tiny pieces. His job is to hit things with hammers until they work and salivate over weapons for the bot.
Duncan Mcpherson. Age 21. Again has a really nice accent which he would like to use to devasting effect on English ladies given half a chance. Student in the IS group. Scotsman who is down here for the summer and got roped into helping. Puts in a large amount of effort and would like to stop making cardboard models soon.
Theo Markettos Student(1 yr placement). Here before going off to University and again is in the Interactive systems group. Theo has landed himself with the job of electronics bloke, and he has to get the speed controllers working. Otherwise Rik steps up with his hammers.
Andrew Berridge. Age 21. Has the nickname of Rik Moranis and does a good impression of Mongolian chants. Student(1yr placement) Out here in his 3rd year at University.Likes the Renualt 5 car and recently completed an ambition to obtain a Gordini Turbo edition. Andrew generally helps out and actually understands how the gearing system works.
Ben Hodson. Age 30. Has a very nice Caterham Super 7 kit car which does indeed go very fast. Research Scientist in the Cordless Comms group. Likes fast cars, attractive women and Beer. Ben is a person who would give body parts to get close to Philippa F. However first he has to get the RF stuff working.
J Block Engineering group. This consists of Dave Atkinson, Graham Baker, Keith Reynold and Jason Hillsdon The people who miraculously turn our ideas from cardboard into Metal. They also have a parrot.
