
COOKING TIPS
1. To prevent bacon from curling, dip the strips into cold water before frying.
2. Spin an egg to determine wether it is raw or hardboiled. If it spins, it is hardboiled. If it just wobbles, it is raw.
3. Bread stays fresher, longer, at room temperature or frozen. Do not store in the refrigerator.
4. To ripen an avacado, burry it in a bowl of flour.
5. Apples wont turn brown after they are cut if you soak them for 10 minutes in moderately salted water.
6. When boiling eggs, add 1t salt to the water. This prevents a cracked egg from draining into the water.
7. Add oil and vinegar to the last of the catsup in the bottle and shake. Makes a good salad dressing.
8. To keep pasta from boiling over or sticking together add a little oil to the water.
9. Rub your hands with parsley to remove any odor.
10. Beat eggs while they are at room temperature for greatest volume.
11. To sweeten whipped cream used powdered sugar instead of granulated.
12. If you break an egg on the floor, sprinkle it heavily with salt and leave it alone for 15 minutes. Then sweep the dried egg into a dust pan.
13. You will get more juice from your oranges, lemons and grapefruit if you roll them on the counter before cutting.
14. When baking cakes that contain raisins or currants or other dried fruit coat with flour to keep them from sinking to the bottom of the cake batter.
15. Egg whites can be frozen, for up to a year. Egg yolks can be kept in the refrigerator for several days, if covered with cool water.

OTHER TIPS
1. Keep buttons on shirts longer by coating the center of each with colorless nailpolish. This will seal the thread.
2. Eliminate odors and remove grease from drains by pouring a strong solution of salt and hot water down the sink.
3. Don't try the elephant stew.
4. To prevent your steel wool pad from rusting wrap it airtight in aluminum foil once its been used.
5. Instead of always bathing your dog, put baking soda into his coat and brush off. You will have a clean and deodorized pet.
6. When in doubt, reboot.
7. Toothpaste will remove scratches from glass.
8. White vinegar will help remove a permanent crease from clothing. Sponge the material liberaly with the vinegar and press with a warm iron.
9. A good spot remover is 2 parts water and 1 part rubbing alcohol.
10. To prevent jewelry from tarnishing in your jewelry box add a piece of chalk.
11. If you or your children must take a strong tasting medicine, first put an ice cube on your tongue for a moment. This will temporarily paralyze the tastre buds.
12. No more "Ouch" when removing a bandaid from your skin if you soak a cotton ball with baby oil and rub it over the bandaid.
