January 1st, 1999 Our first year without you! God holds you in his arms.......
I have written a poem about my Grandfather that I think pretty much tells what this man was like to us all.One keeps thinking that with each day it will get easier, but it seems  time is slower, with the pain of our lost as deep!

"At Arm's Length"
"He stands at the window, hands on his hips.
Never a cross word would pass through his lips."
"Grandpa was a quiet man, stern but kind;
The house was always filled with people,
but I know he didn't mind."
"He never complained of sickness or pain;
and never would he take the Lord's name in vein."

"My Grandma was his life & boy she made him smile;
When she would gaze into his eye's;
he became so juvenile."
"They were completely inseparable, never away for long;
Always laughter between them
even if there were trials;
you would never know there was anything wrong."
"My Grandma is alone now without him as one;
But she knows she will see him, when her life here is done."
She ask's us "Where's Homer"?
And we say 'God took him home to be with him',
then she will smile, and not seem quite so grim."
"All of our days are numbered and only God above knows when;
I want to be with Grandpa & someday, grandma again!!!"

I love you both so much and you are the reason that I am the "Christian" I am today!! Thank you for your prayer's because you never gave up on me, even when I did.....
