OUR    OWN    MUSICAL!

Have you ever wanted to write your own musical? But, just not had the time? Well, then this may be for you! Check out the message that started it all!

What would everyone think of writing our own musical? Perhaps not with actual music, but we could change the words to songs most of us know and then write our own, ideas? comments? I think it'd be fun, we could each make a character and a song or two for that character, just an idea I had... I am bored, ok? :)
Ryan

So that's what began this... it is the beginning stages, but keep checking back and feel free to add, or suggest, but please, ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!

Read what people are saying about my idea!

Ryan- I think that this is a great idea! I have been wanting to do that for a while and this is a great oppurtunity! Thanks for the creativity!
:) Emily

I think it's an excellent idea! Who's first? I need some think time!
Melissa

Ryan -
this sounds like a lot of fun - I'm in. I can change lyrics like whiz. :)
Julie

well we all get bored sometimes, now don't we?
even so, it sounds like a rather nifty idea...(ive always had a special knack for changing words to songs....)

Okay Ryan I'm game if everyone else is. The first thing we need is a plot. Any ideas? Dennis

I would like to say that maybe there should be a young girl about 14 that is a coloratura soprano role in the show perhaps the lead? :) that is just my opinion what else do you all think?
Emily :)

Where    We    Are    Now...

We are in the process of picking a place and era (time) read this!

Hey everyone... okay, well this is a note just to let you all know that I would be happy to:
1) Host our musical on my webpage, so other people, outside of the group, can make suggestions too.
2) Organise this thing (sending and recieving e-mails, conducting polls, whatever.
So, if no one objects then let's begin. I feel we should have an era exploding... no just joking :) an era in which our musical takes place and a location not like 1363 Davis Street or anything, unless that's someone's idea, but let's say a city, town, province, state, whatever. Ok, so reply with your suggestions and then we can have a poll!
Ryan

These are the current ideas as of August 2, 1998

This one is from Dennis...
Since the Millenium is approaching let's go back 100 years. New Years Eve 1899. A Fifth Avenue mansion. A party. Live entertainment. One person at the party plans to murder someone there.

This is mine...
Good one. My suggestion is a high school, in the 90's you can have the different groups, preps, skids, skaters, gangsters... etc.
The other thing that is a suggestion is, and only because I love the opening number and think it is the best one i have seen, that for our opening number we use the theme to Ragtime, lots of place for intros, etc. that's also why I think my idea would work... just a suggestion!

From Anna....
Hello everybody!
I need some more time thinking about a subject, but there has to be a great love story, don't you agree?

From Emily...
How about a musical that spans generations? What do you all think? Like thru all the big historical moments! Rnessaince, Salemwitchtrials,Civil War,World War 1,World War2,Vietnam,World War 3? what do you all think? The future intrigues me as well

From Melissa...
Both are good ideas. If we go with Ryan's idea, I think the "Ragtime" opening is great. However, "Wilkommen" from "Cabaret" is also a great opening number.
I like Dennis' idea too. Maybe the cook in the mansion could be the killer. She could be really bitter and upset at someone. That's good motivation. Why? Oh, and she could have someone working with her.
