Show Boat was a musical I had been waiting to see for a long time, well about 10 months. You see it was the inaugural opening for the Ford Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver and was here for about a year, which for here is a long time! Anyways, I finally got to go. I had purchased the CD and so knew most of the music. What I saw was spectacular, obviously Show Boat is not my most favourite show, but I have to admit that it was definitley a good one. The songs are great (Fish gotta swim and birds gotta fly,) and so are the costumes. The story is pretty good too. One of the major parts that stood out about this show was, and let me explain, the end! This is because I loved when the light hit each of the characters and Joe sings, once again, Ol' Man River... I think this is such a powerful moment in the show. I would definitly go and see it again, and I would suggest anyone who has the opportunity to go and see it!
