I was born Katherine Mercedes Ramirez (yes, Mercedes...don't make fun!) on September 23rd, 1978 at 9:55 pm in beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico... My mother tells me that she didn't even feel pain when she had me...she thought the docs were joking when they told her she was the mother of a gorgeous little girl... that should have warned her of the trouble to come in the next 18 years....

At the age of three, according to my parents, I had learned to read all by myself (more trouble indeed...hehehe). I started kindergarten in a gifted school, where, instead of naptimes and story times, we had math, cursive, and reading. When I finished Kindergarten, we had to move to another town, and so, I attended a private Catholic school, where I skipped first grade. It was quite an accomplishment on my part, according to everyone...but, to tell you the truth, it was too much pressure... At this time, my brother Tony had been born...I remember that, when I was in Kindergarten, there was this girl in 2nd grade that was absolutely IN LOVE with him....even as a baby he was a stud!!!

I moved to Orlando, Florida on July 25th, 1989. It was a weird experience for me....my first time on an airplane...I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Hey, gimme a break! I was only 10! Anyhoo, I found myself in a strange land, with strange people who spoke just like the people on cable t.v. It was almost like my English class in school, only with a whole bunch of overage strangers. The first few days were cool, but, after about a year of living here and thousands of trips to Disney, it became painfully evident that I needed something more...... After living in Kissimmee (that's Kiss-I-mmee, not KISS-i-MMEE)Florida for 7 years, I graduated from Poinciana High School, the youngest graduate in the first graduating class (whew....that was a long one!!! hehehe).

Upon graduation, I was accepted at the University of Tampa, where I currently attend. After changing my minors about 700 times, I finally settled recently on a double major in Communication and Musical Theater. Communication because I love everything revolving the major, especially film. Musical Theater because my dream has always been to be on Broadway and sing and act...it's what I've always wanted to do. In fact, all of my friends will tell you that my life is sort of like a musical: the storyline's unreal and I sing throughout the entire thing. I sing everywhere I go...it's a miracle I haven't driven anyone insane...yet.....
