Winter

I listen to the
wind blow
Lightly stroking
the swing set
on the porch
Reminiscing
on the way
our lives
used to be
together
A holiday crowd at
Macy's
and a
winter coat sale
marked the first year
anniversary
of your death within me
Blue petals
embroidered on
a white rayon
tee shirt
and our initials
in pen
on the obsolete invitations
that our family read
and kept as souvenirs
even after we
called off the
joyous affair
Autumn leaves
fall in the evening
as last resort
And feelings
remind me
even now
of the way
things
used to be
