What if Nikita Kruschev came to dinner and you couldn't whip up a batch of Glamour Dogs? This is just one of many questions you'll find yourself pondering after you read "Adventures in Home Economics" in Mystery Date #2.

But in the meantime, just in case you're expecting any dictators for dinner, here's the recipe from Young Living, a 1959 home economics text by Nanalee Clayton:

GLAMOUR DOGS OR STUFFED FRANKS

Serves 5

(1) Turn oven to 350 degrees. (2) Split franks lengthwise almost through. (3) Fill with stuffing and place in shallow pan. (4) Pour water in pan around franks and bake, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until piping hot.

SPICY STUFFING

(1) Crumble crackers and measure. (2) Fry bacon and crumble. (3) Lightly brown onion and green pepper in 2 T. bacon fat. (4) Combine ingredients.

CHEESE STUFFING

(1) Crush and measure chips. (2) Grate cheese. (3) Mince onion. (4) Combine.
