Darnell Mee averaged 15.0 ppg, 3.3 apg and 3.1 rpg in 1996-97 in 16 games for Gravelines of the French A League. He Appeared in 3 games in the 1993 NBA Playoffs for the Denver Nuggets, totaling 7 points and 3 steals in 30 minutes. Mee Scored a career-high 10 points, for the Denver Nuggets, against the Phoenix Suns on 11/24/93. In College Mee was named honorable mention All-America by the AP after his senior season at Western Kentucky. Darnell Mee represented the Nuggets in the Nuggets/Norwest Banks Goodwill Caravans across the state of Colorado in 1994. Mee's NBA career began when he was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the second round (34th pick overall) of the 1993 NBA Draft. His draft rights were traded by the Golden State Warriors to the Denver Nuggets for the draft rights to Josh Grant and a future second round draft choice on 30/6/93. From there Mee playeda season in the USBL in 1993. Then he was waived by the Nuggets on 1/2/95. He then played in the CBA in 1994-95 and 1995-96. The his NBL carer began with the Canberra Cannons. Playing alongside league legend Robert Rose Mee was still recovering from a serious knee injury, he never lived up to expectations and he and the Cannons parted compan at season's end. From there Mee played in France for a season in 1996-97. Then Mee got another shot at the NBA when he signed as a free agent by the Charlotte Hornets on 12/9/97. His time with the Hornets was short lived as he was waived by the Hornets on 28/10/97. The sixers and new coach Phil Smyth were quic to sign the former Western Kentuckey and NBA player for the 1998 season. He will team up with another former Nugget Kevin Brooks in the sixers line up.
