In 1992, Kevin Richardson by chance moved to Orlando and landed a job with Disney as a Disney World tour guide. But what he really wanted to do was sing.One day Kevin was telling a co-worker that he was interested in singing. His co-worker told him about "these three guys who harmonize all the time". The three guys happened to be A.J.McLean, Howie Dorough and Nick Carter. They were local guys that had met at various acting and singing auditions. Nick, A.J. and Howie had become quick friends and wanted to form a singing group. When Kevin first heard them sing he knew that if he was going to be in a group this would be the one. The three guys had welcomed Kevin enthusiastically but they still wanted one more member to make their sound richer so they held auditions for another singer. Nick, Howie, A.J. and Kevin did not have great luck finding the right singer. One day Kevin thought about his cousin Brian. Brian recieved a phone call from Kevin asking him to come to Orlando to meet the other boys. The next day Brian came to audition and the rest is history.
