Cherry Kisses And Places Never Forgotten
-Short Story By NRM-

"Think of that special place, the place that you feel safe and can relax in." My teacher said.

"Think of the light pouring through and some of it shining on you, feel its warmth!" she told us.

Now this may seem corny. But I did think of my special place, and I did feel the warmth of the light pouring on me.

"Now still at your special place, open your eyes." she said

I opened my eyes to my special place, it was a forest of trees. Of in the distance I could see a small red brick house. I could smell the moss and trees, and if I looked up I could see the light as it shined through the trees.

"Now think of the sounds you would hear." My teacher said as she watched us smile.

Now I could hear laughter, water flowing, and the rustle of leaves as they were being ran through. I'm not one for really being this involved in a silly class thing ... but for some reason this seemed different from the rest ... like it was unlocking my past of my life to be, it didn't seem like I could think of something like this and it mean nothing.

"Now block out my voice and think about everything around you." my teacher instructed us.

I did just that, I watched the trees move and I heard water flowing from somewhere near. I looked down to see where I was sitting to see if it could give me any clue of where my mind had taken me. But no clues, I was just sitting on a large rock. next to a small stream.

The rustling of leaves got closer as did the laughter, slowly I looked up to see a small child and what looked to be her brother running and laughing. The girl was so pretty her blue eyes shining like the October sky and hair as golden as the sun that reached the center of her back. Her smile was like none other I had ever seen words couldn't describe this beauty. The boy she was with had much the same qualities blue eyes, and golden hair but there was a baby smile on his face that made his eyes stand out more then the small girls.

Their laughter was like a signal from above telling me that this is where I belonged, and that I wasn't in some class being told to think about this... It told me that this was something that I had once been part of once or should be part of.

As they got closer I noticed they slowed and looked at me with confusion and fear. They looked back at something as the came to a stop ... seconds after they stopped two more boys came running towards the rock... The first was a younger boy who looked about eleven Golden hair, and deep brown puppy eyes, with a smile that even the angels would be proud of. The second boy was like a mix of the first two boys his eyes shined with the same brown as the second boy but his golden hair was waved. His smile could melt any girls heart no matter where she was or when she saw it.

The two boys stopped and stared at me much the same as the little girl and the first boy were. Slowly the oldest looking of the three boy walked towards me with an unsure look in his eyes of both hurt and love.

"Taylor, who is this?" His voice was a so deep and caring that if one had not been to careful they might cry.

The first boy whom I now knew was Taylor stepped forward with the same look of love and hurt in his eyes as his smile faded.

I wasn't sure if I had thought of the right place maybe I was thinking of a bad place where I never wanted to go back too... Or maybe things had gotten messed up in my mind so it seemed like they didn't know me, whatever the cause I was now frightened.

"Who ever she is, Ike you just freaked her out." His voice was like a soft kiss on a summer day, so sweet that no one could ever fear it.

"What's your name?" the little girl asked.

Her voice was the voice of angels, soft and light as she stayed hidden behind that younger boy.

"Taylor." I said trying to hide my unsure voice

"Taylor?" The eldest whom had been referred to as Ike said looking towards the middle boy name Taylor

Taylor just shrugged his shoulders and looked in my eyes

"Lets take her to Mom." the youngest said offering me his hand.

"Good Idea Zac!" Taylor said taking my other hand.

Soon we entered the brick house I had seen earlier.

"Mom, where are you?" The girl yelled when she walked in

"I'm up here Avery!" An older woman said in a gentle voice that could stop anyone's tears

"Umm could you come down here for a second?" Zac asked

"Sure honey, what's wrong?" She said as she appeared

"Taylor?" she asked looking at me

"Yeah, sort of." I said looking around for a place to hide

"Mom." Taylor said stepping out from behind Isaac

"Who is this?" she said looking from Taylor back to me

"I was gonna ask the same thing to you." He said

"They look like twins!" Avery said over joyed

"Are my babies finally together?" The woman said tears forming in her eyes

"Mom?" I said looking at her

"Okay now slowly leave your special places, and return to the class." My teacher's voice broke through

Slowly I woke up from my place and looked around to see the dark world of the school class room.
