Quiet Desperation

So many times she's sat at night

In the quiet, still dark night

          Thinking of her lonesome life

All alone in that still dark night.

Although there are others up in their rooms

          There's a lonesome, silent life

          For this lonesome, silent wife.

During the day the light seems to say

It's all right to go on today

And forget about that lonesome life

All alone in that still dark night.

The children allow her to put on a smile

And forget about her troubles for awhile.

But that still dark night is only hours away

Before there can be another new day.

This quiet desperation in all its sorrow

          Never waits until tomorrow.

It sneaks upon her without a warning

But goes away at daylight's morning.

It seems to say what about your soul

What about the part that makes you whole

Where is it when you settle for less

Than what you deserve, the very best.

Her life goes on with apparent ease

With all the treasures one could please.

For there truly are secret ways

To get through those difficult days.

Not once will you find her wanting more

Than her family that she truly adores.

For no life is perfect and comes without pain

Or sacrifice in order to notice a gain.

She can't have it all, not at the same time

So she must have patience and wait for her time.

For it will surely come and the light will shine

In this lonely wife's darkness and feel just fine

I'm so sure that many people can relate to this poem, but the thing that stands out in my mind is those nights when you look out a window in the middle of a dark cold night, and you feel like your the only one thats awake.

The whole world is sleeping and you sit and think about your day,If I had it to do over would I? Yes I sure would.

Because for a lot of us, with out little lifes pains and struggles, what would be the point? I think it makes us all that much stronger.

The greater the obstacle, the more glory in over- coming it.

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars. and before you know it another day has dawned. So next time you cannot sleep and your stareing at the dark night sky, just think, God has a plan for us and one day we will know what it is he wants us to do.
