I'm Chin Yang and I am from Nibong Tebal, Penang, Malaysia. I graduated from the University of Durham in 2002. I have only recently started working as assistant librarian to the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur, and am enjoying it so far.
I love to compose and have a few compositions to date. The presentable ones are Little Rhapsody for Piano and Violin in B minor premiered in Kuala Lumpur 1999, and Calling To A Silent Picture for soprano, clarinet and cello. I have completed yet another chamber piece called Falling Leaves for clarinet, violin, cello and piano in May 2000.
Since starting university my interest changed a little while still remaining totally committed to composing. I am now interested in the field of ethnomusicology, especially Taoist/Buddhist rituals and the music involved, as well as chinese traditional music.
