Electronica   Generation......

"Many genres of music exist in our world today, and new ones are constantly being created...."

'Electronica' is one of the newer styles of music, or it is commonly known to most people as 'techno,'
and from its name, we already recognise the style of music it is, which is 'technology music.'
However, techno is sadly underestimated by those in the community who do not understand the
meaning behind it and the purpose it serves to the Electronica community. Just like there is the Punk
community, the Electronica community also exists and is becoming increasingly greater all the time.
It has its own images and styles which are fulfilled by its people and is brilliant in the notion of its
admirable originality and outrageousness.

Techno music is the source from which the Electronica community was born, and inspired many
brilliant artists works which are existent in our society today. These include art crimes, otherwise
commonly known as Graffiti, the creation of Electronica fashion and 'raves' which are similar to
nightclubs, but with a lot more energy and overall an authentic experience of the techno genre music.
Electronica Djs not only play music to the audience in their own unique way, also many specialise in
creating techno to their audience live and ingeniously improvised. Such Djs mainly work their magic
at major rave events and quite often accompanied by other Djs, making techno with synthesisers and
samplers. This can be perceived as a friendly from of war via music.

Ever since the Electronica culture began, many wonderfully bizarre new types have been created.
These include: trance, jungle/tribal, hardcore, happy, lyrical/dance, chemical and acid. Most genres
of music usually have their 'mainstream' and 'underground' domains. Mainstream is the mostly
lyrical music that would be heard on top 40 radio shows and receiving full publicity; though
underground is the more concealed or secretive side which is only discovered by those with a dedicated
interest, in this case, the Electronica culture.

The actual music itself is contructed in special studios specifically for the making of technology
music. The majority of Electronica artists produce their music via computers using the essential
software which is required, keyboards, mixers, drumming machines, samplers and most of all,
synthesisers. However, some artists create their 'own' music by stealing samples from other artists,
then manipulating and altering the samples and arranging them together to their liking to form a
track. Sometimes, it is so ingeniously unrecognisable that the artist takes full credit as an original
piece.

A description of the music itself is basically futuristic, rythmic beats, wavey trance sounds, 'bleepy'
pulsations and also lyrics, depending on whether or not the music is mainstream. Most techno music
is structured by a pattern, which is slowly building up to a 'big bang' climax in the trax, meaning
that there is a recognisable change in pace and or mood throughout the track.

Most music is usually just 'heard' by its audience. Many people involved with the Electronica culture
like to believe that it should be 'felt' rather than heard, which is a true statement. Serious techno
music exhibited in the legitimate atmosphere, such as a rave, enables the audience to capture the
trance emotional capacity it has to control the bodily movement and souls of the audience. This is the
area which is no appreciated, or more so, not recognised by outsiders to the Electronica community.

It is satisfying to see that the Electronica culture is increasingly becoming greater and stronger in the
music industry. Radio stations specialising in Electronica culture are being formed and their audience
is becoming increasingly larger all the time, however organisations of radio broadcasting only
understand numbers of people listening and not the culture itself. This is yet to be accomplished.
Through the production of techno music internationally, nations are bonded together by the
Electronica culture in their own 'happy nation,' where the wars only exist when Dj versus Dj in battle
at the rave scene.
