The famous "Dancing Baby" now has a partner...
Tommy Pickles from The Rugrats!

THE STORY OF THE DANCING TOMMY
As Howard Hallis and Erik Trueheart were creating
this website, they were
asked by Klasky Csupo to come up with some unique ideas not found on any
other Rugrats page.
Knowing the popularity of the Dancing Baby, they commisioned Los Angeles
artist Drew Mancilla
to draw Tommy Pickles doing the famous cha-cha just like his online friend.

When the site was ready to launch, the animation
artists at Klasky Csupo were reluctant to
have the Dancing Tommy put online because Drew's version of Tommy is pretty
far "off model".
They felt it wouldn't be good to represent the animation company that is
behind Rugrats with art that
wasn't 100 percent accurate. A request was put in for the in-house artists
to begin working on another
Dancing Tommy, but with the Rugrats Movie coming out and the premiere of
the new show
Wild Thornberrys coming on Nickelodeon this fall, most of the artists had
their hands full (to say the least!)
Everyone thought Drew's Dancing Tommy was really
great, despite the fact that it was "off model".
Even Rugrats co-creator Gabor Csupo loved it, and it was his final decision
to put it online.
