UPDATE!

I saw an amateur production of Oliver! by the same group that did the version of Carousel which I saw, and it had a lot of the same performers. For the first time, I actually arrived late to a musical, and missed the opening minute or so! I was very impressed with the effort put it to the costumes and the scenery, it was visually really good. It was a confident performance too, with no mistakes, and everyone did well. The boy playing Oliver had been in the West End production. The highlight though was Nancy, who was played by a 15 year old girl who had been in Whistle Down the Wind. She had one of the best voices I've ever heard, and her acting was great too, I think she could do really well in the West End.
Overall, Oliver! was very enjoyable, and it was a fun evening for everyone who went.
