UPDATE!

On June 25th 1998 I went to see a touring production of West Side Story at the New Theatre in Cardiff. It's a fair sized theatre, and we had seats in the upper circle which firstly didn't have a brilliant view and secondly were extremely uncomfortable. But it didn't stop me enjoying a wonderful production.

All the characters were great, Tony especially. The orchestra was superb, playing the score loudly and vibrantly as it should be. There was also some really great dancing which was perhaps what I enjoyed most. There were some very sad moments during the 2nd Act, but what should have been the saddest moment, when Tony gets shot, was ruined by people laughing at the noise of the gun. I was really surprised at how good the song 'Cool' was, so I'd say it was the best on the night.
