Get out your record books for this one, Backstreet Boys fans.
According to the group's management, Backstreet
Boys sold 765,000 tickets on Saturday, and in the
process sold out all 53 dates of the group's
Into the Millennium Tour, which runs from Sept. 14 through
Dec. 12. (They hit Rupp Arena on Nov. 26.)
So that means the heartbroken in Lexington
who missed out on tickets Saturday were not alone in their
despair.
Yes, 765,000 people across North America
will get to see the group (which includes Kentucky cousins
Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson), but
plenty walked away empty-handed.
Ticket brokers, who no doubt scooped up thousands
of Backstreet Boys tickets, are said to be asking
about $85 for upper-arena tickets for the
Cincinnati show; $150 for lower arena; and up to $500 for
the first four rows.
