Is distance a state of mind?
or is it something much easier to define
Is it a place that is hard to get to?
or is it a feeling that comes when emptiness breaks through
Alone in the dark, or in a crowded room
the feeling overwhelms one with the sense of impending doom
The turmoil inside wages its endlesstug of war
relentless as waves that crash along the shore
We lie side by side, like we do everyday
