Oh lonely star, shining brightly in the heavens tonight
How your lights does penetrate the blackest of night
You are the beacon that guides me home
Awe, wonder and beauty are among the gifts you have shown
When i am lonely and feeling lost among the masses
You are there to walk with me, soon the blueness passes
Although you shine alone in the nightime sky
you defy the odds as another million years pass by
You've witnessed the best and worst in us all
Seen powerful dynasties rise, crumble and fall
Inspirational rays shine, to the dreamers delight
carrying hopes and dreams, on the wings of the night
A valuable lesson, you have taught me my friend
One a lonely heart needed, in order to mend
Though i may drift through through the nights all alone
I can now draw strength from all you have shown
For the lost and lonely in this world that remain
Whose hearts are full of sadness and thoughts of disdain
Take my hand, come walk with me into the light
and become another lonely star, shining brightly all through the night
