The Charge of the Goddess

   Hear the words of the Gentle Goddess,The Great Mother,Glorious
One.Know that in days long past She was known as Isis,Artemis,
Brigid,Cerridwen,Grandmother Spider,Freyja,Arianrhod,and by so
many other names.So listen Children of the Loving Goddess,
listen close.May the words touch your heart with understanding.

   "If ever you have need of anything;once in a month,and better
it be when the Moon is ripe,then shall ye gather in a secret place
of magick and adore the essence of me.I who AM Queen of all witches.
There you shall assemble,you who would learn all sorcery,yet have not
yet touched its deepest secrets;To these will be taught all things
that are as yet unkown.

   And ye shall be free from bondage;and to prove that you are truly
free;ye shall dance,sing,feast,make music and love in my praise.For
the ecstasy of the spirit is mine.And joy on Earth is mine also.

   Keep pure your highest ideals;strive always toward them;let 
nothing and no one stop nor deter you from them.For mine is the Secret
Door which opens upon the Land of Youth,and mine is the Cup of the
wine of Life.Mine,too,is the Cauldron of Cerridwen,which is the Holy
Vessel of Immortality.

   I am the Gracious Goddess,who gives the gift of joy unto the hearts
of men.Upon Earth,i give the knowledge of the spirit eternal;beyond 
death I give peace,freedom,and reunion with those who have gone before.

   I DO NOT demand sacrifice;for I am the Mother of all Life,and my
love is poured out upon the Earth.I am the beauty of the Green Earth,
the White Moon among stars,mytery of the waters,and the desires of
the heart and soul.

   Arise and come to me,for I AM the very soul of Nature.I give Life
to the whole univers.All things go forth from me and unto me all must
return.

   Let my worship be within the heart.For behold all acts of love and
pleasure are my rituals.Therefore,let there be beauty and strength,
power and compassion,honor and humility,mirth and reverance 
encompassed within you,my Child.

   And you who thinks to seek me out,know that your seeking is in vain
lest you should know this mystery: That if you cannot find what you
seek within yourself,you will never find it without.

   For Behold! I have been with you from the beginning and I AM that
which is obtained at the end of desire."
