"Buckeye" Tom Long
caught This 47" Muskie Dec.9 at 9:45 am
she weighed in at 25 lbs.
and came from Middlefork Creek in Vinton Co. Ohio.
She was caught on a Heddon Big Tiger which is a shallow running crankbait with awesome action.
Perch color and about 5 inches long.
Interesting note:One of Tom's Catfish buds
(Woody Carrington) gave Tom a couple of these lures and a gaff when he first started his muskie quest.
The interesting part is they were made in the 70's and are impossible to find.
It's like they say,"they don't make em like they used to".
Tom was fishing by himself and it was an incredible fight!
That was the second fish that hit that lure in the same creek.
(color and presentation mean a lot!)
Tom's equipment included an Abu Garcia 6000 reel
on a Rhino 6'6" heavy action rod and 20lb test Trilene XL line
