Chapter 15

Taylor smiled. He had just gotten off the phone with Simone and she had brightened up his day. Although it was still really early in the morning, she still put him in a good mood before he was put in a bad one. He loved the way that she did that. Put him a happy mood for the rest of the day.

He was also happy because the whole thing about her wanting to talk to Ike was resolved. She said that she wanted to make her best friend happy and she convinced Isaac to go out on a blind date the next time that they were going to be visiting. He was happy that she didn't like him. Taylor couldn't imagine what he would do if Simone started to like Isaac.

That night, after they got back from the venue that they would be performing at the following night, Taylor was in his room, looking for the notebook that Simone had sent him. He had left it right on his dresser, so he could mail it in the morning. But it was gone and he was literally going hysterical trying to find it! He looked under his bed one more time, just checking, when there was a knock at the door. A few seconds later, Walker came into his room, and sat down on his bed.

"Son, we need to talk." His dad said. Taylor saw something in his dad's hands, but he wasn't really paying much attention. He wasn't really going to be paying much attention to anything until he found that notebook.

"About what?" Taylor asked.

"This." Walker said. Taylor didn't even realize that his dad was holding the notebook until he held it up. He then knew what his dad wanted to talk about. "I didn't mean to read it. When we were leaving this morning, I saw it laying on the floor and I was going to pick it up and lay it on your bed. It was open to a page, and as I was picking it up, a few words stood out and I couldn't help but read it. And some of it was a little 'deep' if you know what I mean."

As funny as it was, Taylor knew exactly what his dad was talking about.

"You know that both your mother and I will support you and back you up with whoever you would happen to bring into the family, as friends, or in the case, as more than friends, but really Taylor, how could you possibly mean everything that you said? How could you possibly love-"

"Dad! You don't know anything! You don't know what I feel inside whenever I think about Simone. You don't know what I feel whenever I talk to her on the phone. You don't, and you can't. You can't feel what I feel." Taylor said.

"Taylor, you're too young! Only 15, how could you know what love is?"

"What kind of question is that, Dad? All I know is, that I feel something special when I think about her. I have never felt like this before, and the feeling is good. No one else has ever had this affect on me before. She makes me feel special, like someone really does care about me, more than a fan ever would, or more than my family ever would. And I know that you're not going to believe me, but I love her. I love her for making me feel special, I love her for making me feel needed, and I love her for doing everything that she does to make me feel good about myself." Taylor said. Walker handed him the notebook, stood up and walked toward the door.

"I'm just telling you now, Tay. Be careful and don't get hurt." Taylor turned his back to his dad and he left. He held the notebook to his chest. But something was wrong with the whole situation. He had left the notebook on the dresser, closed. But his dad said that he found it on the floor, opened. Someone had read it. Anger built up inside of him and he thought back to the morning. Simone wanted to talk to Isaac on the phone.

Isaac. He was in my room earlier this morning and he was the one who read it. He likes Simone and he read the private notebook that she sent me. Taylor put the notebook in the dresser drawer and walked over to Isaac's room to have a little talk with his older brother.
