1999 Mariposa Gala



In August 1999, I attended the annual Maripsa Gala show in Barrie, Ontario. Brian and Kurt were the main attractions to the event. The line up was great-- other skaters included Michael Hopfes, Marcus Leminen, Takeshi Honda, Seargent and Wirtz, and Josee Choinard, along with many other future talents of the sport.
I first attended the elite practice at Mariposa, where Brian showed up for a little practice. He was very gracious (and looked a little tired!), giving tips to other skaters. Here are some pics below...
