These ships are deceiving! Although the numbers seem to place them, sizewise, in the middle of today’s jumbo ships, reality places them near the top. Not present here is the shoe box design that makes it easy to build large ships with mediocre dimensions. This ship has curves, and lots of them. Also present is a tiered, wedding cake design, that robs the ship of its gross tonnage, while providing additional exposed deck area. (Remember, tonnage is determined through measurements of “enclosed areas” only). Even Royal Caribbean’s staff members refer to these ships as The MEGA ships, despite other ships in the fleet with larger gross tonnage. THIS IS A HUGE SHIP!

Majesty of the Seas, and her sisters, were designed for one week, Caribbean cruises, Period! For this, she is unequaled. She provides small cabins and voluminous sun space for actively inclined, Caribbean cruisers. She supplies an extraordinary amount of public areas and lounges, catering to most any taste in entertainment. Because of the additional passengers carried on board, she provides more choices and variety of entertainment than most any other ship sailing these waters, including those of Royal Caribbean. Re-position Majesty of the Seas to an area outside of the Caribbean, and I’d have to suggest picking another ship, but, nothing else can beat her when in her realm. Majesty is THE ship on which to sail the Caribbean. (Along with her sisters, of course!)

Majesty of the Seas is 73,941 tons. 873.6 feet long. 105.9 feet wide with a 24.9 foot draft. She is registered in Norway (not in Africa although it would be cheaper to do so!) with Norwegian Officers and an International Crew. She is powered by diesel/electric engines and provides an absolutely vibration free cruise. She was Christened by H.M. Queen Sonja of Norway.

Sister ships include: Monarch of the Seas (a twin with the exception of one small cosmetic exterior difference and different décor) and Sovereign of the Seas.
