MS Noordam - Holland America Line

The Noordam is the newer of two sister ships built, in France, for Holland America Line. Unique to their design is the virtual total absence of curved lines: every line on the exterior of the ship is angular. Although, technically, a modern ship, she carries forth the tradition of ship design dating to the classic ships of the fifties. She entered service in 1984.

Noordam is 33,940 tons. 704 feet long. 89.4 feet wide with a 24.2 foot draft. She is propelled by diesel-electric. Noordam is now registered in the Netherlands with Dutch officers and an international crew.

Sister ship(s): Nieuw Amsterdam
