ABRAHAM IN GERRARAH CHAPTER TWENTY

Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of Negeb and dwelt between Cades and Sur. But while there out of the fear which he felt, he told the king, Abimelech, that Sarah was his sister, and he took Sarah to be his wife. But God would not let it be and told the king in a dream, that he might not be in sine, and he went to Abraham to return Sarah, and Abimelech said to him, "What have you done onto us? How have I offended you that you should bring down on my kingdom a great sin such as you do? No one should be treated as you have treated me. What had you in mind in doing this thing?" And Abraham told him of his fear if they should find out that Sarah was his wife. He said, "Besides, she is my sister, indeed; my father's daughter, but not my mother's." And the king filled all his needs, and opened his land up to him to vindicate him before all men. Then Abraham prayed to God, and God cured Abimelech and the women of his household, and they bore children, for the Lord had closed their wombs because of the wife of Abraham, Sarah, who was returned to his rooms.
