Potomac Valley Skiers

members of the Blue Ridge Ski Council

Potomac Valley Skiers (PVS) is a club consisting of nearly 200 recreational skiing enthusiasts. Our members hail primarily from the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. We were established in the fall of 1965 in an effort to create a congenial club of people who truly enjoy and actively pursue skiing.

Each year the Club sponsors 4/5 ski trips to the Rocky Mountains, Europe, and South America led by and limited to Club members and their guests (others at option of tour leader). In some cases, PVS group trips offer lodging at top hotels (with ski-in/ski-out) at major areas. In all cases, a number of après-ski hours, dinners, and pre-trip parties are included. Scheduled trips for the season are the following:

Aug 2000 -- Argentina
Jan 22-29, 2001 Steamboat (full)
Feb 10-17, 2001 The Canyons/Park City
Feb 28-Mar 7 Telluride
April 2-9 Keystone

[Inquire by e-mail at address below for info about these trips.]

In the local area, the Club holds well-attended monthly meetings, bicycle rides, hikes, golf outings, gourmet dinners, and other special events throughout the year.

The typical applicant for membership in PVS has been skiing regularly for several years and hopes to continue well into the future. While PVS is usually close to its maximum limit of 200 members and has a high renewal rate, we would be happy to respond to inquiries about us.
