Everyone wanted me to give KC a page of her own! After all, she is the poor dog that is living in a house with 3 cats!!
So, let me introduce her. She is a 13" tri-colored Beagle, and she will be 8 years old in May.
We brought her home when she was 8 weeks old, and was just a tiny ball of fur. Didn't take her long to get us trained!
Beagles should never sleep on the floor ~ chairs and couches are more comfortable! Now I've always had large dogs, and they were never allowed on the furniture ~ but Beagles are different! They will let you know that immediately.
We learned to guard our food and glasses of milk shortly after she moved in with us. Amazing how fast a dog can be when they spot a "goodie" on the table!
Beagles are a scent hound ~ and KC can prove that fact. She can find a scrap of food ten miles away. You would think I never feed the little twit.

Now as far as KC getting along with all the cats. She does just fine with them ~ as long as they don't get near her food dish! That is a mistake only made once in this house. I didn't know she could growl so loud. Of course its ok for her to eat their food. Beagles are allowed to do that.
I've walked into the living room to find two cats and KC all curled up sleeping on the couch. Naturally, KC is sleeping on the pillow ~ canines have certain rights.
When Sammie and Belle decide to do "hot laps" down the hall, KC will join in once in awhile. Horrifies the cats ~ but then we have a three-way race!
KC has also decided that if cats can sleep on my bed ~ why can't she! More then once I've found her stretched out sleeping on my robe with a cat along side of her. She will open one eye to see if I'm going to do anything about it. When I go to bed, I still put her in her crate. Best place for a Beagle to sleep ~ you KNOW where they are!!
I know the cats communicate with her. They have taught her how to climb up on the dining room table!
Between the dog and cats, all the little ceramic animals I used to have on my living room tables ~ are safely put away now! Why have those ~ I've got the real thing!
I've decided its alot easier to "baby proof" a house then to "animal proof" it! In some ways, that's a good thing. We never leave food around, or drinks. Not if we want them later!! My Labradors knew better then to touch anything laying around. KC knows better also ~ just doesn't care! Getting hollered at is worth it to her!!
So now you've met the last member of our animal family! She is a real character, and she has given us alot of laughter to go with the frustrations!
Beagles are smart little dogs. Stubborn and pig-headed, but you can't help but love them to bits.
This is KC ~ which means ~ Killer Canine! LOL
