Thunder is the last Playstation for THQ using the WCW grapplers.
ThankGOD!!!Thunder is the worst playing wrestling game since the
horrible playing Nitro also developed by Inland/THQ.The button
reaction and grappling on the game is clumsy at best.
The collision detection is horrible as wrestlers connect on
punches and kicks from half way across the ring.
The announcing on the gameis simply annoying.
If I hear the words Powerbomb again I am gonna puke.
I wish that WCW would use Hall and Nash as announcers again.
The worst feature in the game is the clumsy,slow,and confusing Battle
Royal Mode.The game is not bad if you are a wrestling fan.
The Full Motion video is incredible including music and video intros
for every character including midcarder Mike Enos.
Also the game has over 60 wrestlers and several arena and
PPV rings(the Hog Wild setting is great).The use of dual shock is also
a great thing when you are fighting for your life in the great steel
cage mode.
Other realitic rasslin touches include the ring being showered with
trash when jerk+face heels like Hollywood Hogan wrestle.
The motion captured wrestlerslook great and the rants are funny
(they were the highlight of that lame Nitro game).New to the game are
several weapons including a functioning television and guitar!
If you are wrestling fan this game is worth owning
as a video scrapbook of World Championship Wrestling-the rants,rings,
wrestlers and trash throwing make this seem real to a point.
The gameplay and collision detection ruin a fine looking product.
