Welcome to the Two Towns of Frankfort and Winterport,Maine
this Web Site has been established so anyone searching out
Family Genealogy or the History of these two towns.
We hope it will become a good place to visit and help you with
your Genealogy and town History needs.
                      A brief History of the two towns:
It all started out as the one town of Frankfort in the late
1700's which covered an area from Present day Searsport
Prospect and Hampden,Me.
In 1860 the town of Winterport was formed creating a split
between upper and lower Frankfort.
Whereas the two towns had and still have families residing in
both towns. The families and the Genealogy and History of these
two towns it seem as they both should be here together.
As times goes on and as we get more Imformation there will be
access to the Censuses/births/marriages/deaths.Plus the General
History of our two towns.
So  keep coming back to this site where it will
be updated often.
All the information that you find on this page was obtained
from books/ journals/etc. from local libraries and the Me.
State Archives everything you see here can be found at
the above places.
What I have done is take the time to copy them just as
anyone could and put them online for FREE USE FOR
EVERYONE in their family research.
          AS OF 2-10-2002 I WILL BE REBUILDING
          THE CENSUS SITE SO IT WILL BE EASIER
          FOR EVERYONE WHEN COMPLTED IT WILL HOST
          FRANKFORT 1850-60-70-80 1900-1910-1920
