Cawsand and Kingsand
The beaches of Cawsand on the left, next is the boundary between Cawsand and Kingsand and Kingsand beach is last are a favorite sailing desination, only an hour across Plymouth Sound. The Cornwall/Devon border used to run between the linked villages before it was moved to run in the middle of the river Tamar. Boasting seven pubs there is plenty to do for all.
Cawsand beach - the left picture was taken on an average day. The centre picture is of the ferry, nicknamed the Red Pig, that runs from the Barbican in Plymouth to Cawsand beach during the summer. The right picture was taken on Gig-Racing day. Link for more Gig-Racing Day pictures. |
