Senior Picture - Class of 1940
Now here's a pile of...Okies! This was at the Hydro
City Park around 1944, I think. The people pile consist of, from top to
bottom and left to right: Ralph Baker, James Nees, Terrell Nowka, Stewart
Sayre, Frosty Staples, Lonnie Ethel, Albert Holderman, Marion West, Melvin
Tindel, and Cecil Reynolds. It is rare to have a group picture of Terrell
because he was about the only one in Hydro with a 35 mm camera and such
a super photographer, that he usually was always behind the camera instead
of in the front.

The sod homestead of Godfrey Nowka and birth place of Chester and Floyd
Nowka, located 5 miles North and 2 miles East of McDonald, Kansas.
This photo was taken by W.P. Lambert of Bird City, Kansas around 1887.
From left to right is Amy Tickler Hays, her sister Caroline Tickler Nowka
who was Terrell's Grandma, Terrell's Great Grandma Ada Tickler, in
buggy is Dorothy Hays daughter of Amy, Godfrey Nowka and his daughters,
Lillian and Mabel. Paul, Harry, and Raymond Nowka were born in Nebraska.
On September 10, 1991 Terrell, Mary, and Steve Nowka located this site.
