Pembrook Place

How many times have you heard someone say, "I know very little about art, but I know what I like"? I find myself saying those words often, for it is true. I have also learned it's quite alright not to "know", but rather to be able to sit back and simply "enjoy" it, for some times true enjoyment, that special feeling which takes over your whole being, really is the key to knowledge.

This entire site is devoted to many of the works, given to us, and to the world of art, by a very gifted person, Thomas Kinkade. To me, he has always been the "painter of light". That is my key, his work, is my knowledge.

I am unable to discuss, let alone think about, the different types of brush strokes painter's use to achieve a certain look on the canvas, nor do I have a knowledge of the types of paint used, or how they go about mixing colors. However; I have sat for many hours, not studying Kinkade's work, but simply enjoying it.

I feel Thomas Kinkade has the ability to reach out and make one feel as though they are, not a subject of his work, but rather are part of a living experience.

I have seen and felt myself stroll down "Autumn Lane", sat and heard the sounds of "Beside Still Waters", and for personal reasons, cry, yet find the beginning of what I hope is inner peace, when I look across to the other side of "Bridge of Faith".

For you little bear, because we always looked at them together, and you never got bored, nor left my side. You will always be in my heart...
