Consorzio Cal-Italia Presents...SALUTE!, The 4th Annual Fort Mason Tasting

The Consorzio Cal-Italia is an association of California wineries producing wines from Italian grape varietals grown here. The group was formed in 1997 and Phoenix Vineyards was a charter member. Even though we only produce about 200 to 400 cases of Sangiovese a year we thought it was great idea to show support for these wonderful grapes and the wines that they make.

This year we will be offering a pre-release tasting of our wonderful 1999 "Blood of Jupiter" Sangiovese along with our debut release of Pinot Grigio from the 1998 Harvest. Don't miss the opportunity to taste these award winning wines. We will also have some of our first Estate Olive Oil on hand for you to sample. We made a very small quantity from last harvest. At this years event you can meet Aaron Bader, the winemaker, along with Vineyard Manager Erik Bader.

There will be over 60 different wine producers on hand to pour their wines along with dozens of the Bay Area's top chefs and food purveyors to tempt your palate as you explore the latest "mediterranean bounty". We look forward to this tasting more and more each year and we hope to see you there!!!

Saturday, October 7th, 2 to 5 P.M. at the Herbst Pavillion, Fort Mason, in San Francisco
